My husband likes this boot

"My husband likes this boot so much I bought a second pair. He also convinced me to purchase a pair for myself. These boots are so comfortable and durable."

Very worthwhile purchase. Stylish trad' hikers.

"The two pair of Rocky model RKS0596 in 9W and 9½W I just received appear to be of more than adequate quality construction for the price I paid (a few hundred under retail). Other than trying them on for fit - and they are true-to-size for my size 9 to 9½ feet. . . the box marked-and-sized as wide. . . which, since I'll wear these with wool socks and silk liners, the width is fine) - I can't speak to their longevity of course. Note: I'm easy on shoes in general, and these will mostly be worn around town during mildly inclement weather. The outer leather is real (in appearance, and the typical leather scent); the stitched heel cap is of the same leather. The toe pull is not looped. The liner is some kind of a synthetic (supposedly waterproof), and soles are Vibram. The welt is evenly stitched into some kind of midsole (the thread is not waxed), but as the glued sole wraps up over the midsole, it's impossible to say how functional the stitching is to the integrity of the boot. Only time will tell. The removable insole is adequately cushy; it can be either replaced when the foam wears out (granted the boot lasts long enough), or easily changed to a gel insole as meets your preference.   The inner liner is Rocky's "eVent" [waterproof] material. . . it's not Goretex lol, and I've no idea of its efficacy. The upper liner appears to be a soft, thinner smooth leather in light tan. The inner heel cap seems to be same, but rough side out. The lacing hardware is a mix of stout plastic and metal. The laces are round [red] nylon. As for overall general appearance, they are a quite nice example of the style. . . as far as suitability for hiking? - I'll probably never know: my hiking days are [sadly] long past. As remarked, these will be used around town. Both pairs arrived in OEM boxes in a single outer box from Shoebacca, with their usual attention to detail (this is not my first purchase from Shoebacca, although it's been a while), which is appreciated. Kudos to the shipping crew! I owned similar Rocky boots decades ago, when they were made in the US. These are made in China. For the price I paid, these were an almost absurdly good deal and I would highly recommend them (regardless of longevity). At the current price (a sub-Franklin or so)? - YMMV, but I'd say they're worth a shot. I also want to give a shout-out to the other reviewer, as my purchase was based entirely upon his review. . . which included his correct observation that these are a men's model. . . and not sized for women. Thanks so much!"

What A Deal

"Amazing deal, they were first advertised as women's (not) I ordered several pairs and all were men's. Nice leather, Vibram soles, and extra black laces included. They darken slightly with mink oil, and look awesome with black laces. I also trimmed the heel lugs down to accommodate my gate. Loving them so far, and only pennies on the dollar."
