Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've recommended these boots so often, I should work for you What can I say about these boots? I absolutely love them. As a 62 year old grandmother of 5, I'm probably not your average customer, but I don't think you should give up style just because you get older. Besides being stylish, they are extremely comfortable; I can run errands in them all day and chase after energetic grandsons in the evening and not think twice about it. I get a lot of compliments while wearing them, I have literally been stopped at the dealership and grocery store and had long conversations with strangers about their comfort and great traction. They run a little big, but that's works well for me since I prefer thick socks in the fall and winter.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tounge of shoe cuts into top of foot like a dagger... I don't know if this is just my foot, but the tongue of this shoe (part right under laces) cuts straight into the top of my leg. It's honestly pretty odd, because its every time I walk its like I get stabbed sideways.... I'm not really sure why I have this problem, as the other reviewers didn't seem to have this problem? Maybe its because it was slightly to big for my foot, but I felt like it fit in all of the other places. Its also not padded like a lot of running shoes tongues are so maybe that's why? You don't notice it as much if you have a sock layer in between but that doesn't fix the problem. I really loved everything else about the shoe, the looks, the comfort of the foot bed, etc but I need to be able to walk comfortably with each step so that's sad. Going to be returning.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from But for the stiff ankle, they would earn 5 stars Wavering between 3 and 4 -- I love the color. The footbed is true to size with enough room for a cushy sock. They have good tread. The shoe strings could be longer and the ankle is VERY STIFF, I am told Timberlands just get better with age, so I am hoping the ankle area gets more flexible/softer with wear and time, or maybe they will always be that stiff and I just picked the wrong height, in any case,I will give them a year, if they haven't become more flexible after that, someone (who can tolerate the stiffness) will be getting a great pair of boots free.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shoe but stiff shoe tongue I received the shoe yesterday and was super excited to break them in while snow is on the ground. Unfortunately I never made it out the door. The shoe tongue is extremely stiff and digs into the foot with excruciating pain. I quickly placed the shoes back in the box. The shoe is huge (I wear a size 10) on the foot but that is expected because it's a boot. More than enough space to wear multiple socks if needed. Shoe lace provides good tightening of the shoe to prevent sliding if only one pair of socks is worn. Very stylish and looks exactly as shown on the internet. Would I purchase the shoe again if the shoe tongue was more flexible? Absolutely!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too bad... First of all, the European size conversion reference table is incorrect, just as info imprinted on shoes. According to information on the website and on the shoes, size US 8 represents EU size 39, which turned out to be a wrong conversion. I wear EU 39 and size 8 is more like EU 38.5, whereas size US 8.5 = EU 39. Secondly, I read the reviews before purchasing these. I was looking for waterproof, lightweight boots that can be worn "right out of the box" as one of the reviews said. I don't know if it is true for all feet, but in my case the tongue cut straight into my leg. I couldn't imagine leaving the house wearing them. It seems if the tongue was a bit longer, it would just fold up instead of cutting straight into a log.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the purchase This is my 2nd pair of Timberland boots, but the 1st pair in a lower-cut style. These chukka boots are more comfortable and the light taupe/iridescent combination looks nice and unique. True to size. Quality is superb as expected.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well-made boots! The boots are sturdy, well-made, and true to size (I normally wear 8.5 in Keds, 9 in Clarks boots, 8 in Rockport and Sperrys, 9 in Nike; basically all over the place!). I got this in 8.5, fits me perfectly! The only thing I would comment on is the upper tongue. It tends to rub your feet so make sure to wear thick socks and/jeans to protect your feet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lasted 5 years - still going I bought these boots 5 years ago, in a dark blue hue, and used them daily throughout the winter months. I originally bought them so I could have a durable, waterproof boot, that wasn't to heavy/obnoxious to get me to class (and/or the bars) in college - in Michigan's U.P. where the winters are harsh. I've used them to hike Mt Washington, Mt Mansfield, throughout Acadia, the Brother loop at Baxter State Park, and countless more trails. They definitely do not look new anymore, but I've re-polished them once or twice. With all the hiking, the top of the toes has been scuffed so that the water-proofing is worn, but these boots are durable. The rubber tread under the ball of the foot has worn flat and smooth, but I'll be buying another pair once the rubber wears through.
