Glossary of Shoe Terms - DMX - Durasponge
| DMX | Reebok's interconnected air sacks that allow air to fascillate throughout the entire system as needed for support on impact. |
| DMX Internal | Multi-chambered air bladders located in Reebok's EVA midsole that allow the transfer of air from front to rear creating a cushioning effect where it is needed most along the foot. |
| DMX-I Pak | Two-chambered air bladder, surrounded by EVA, that allows air to flow from one end of the system to the other on impact in the Reebok shoe. |
| D'orsay | A style of high heel or pump in which one or both sides of the shoe are cut out to reveal the foot. |
| DRC | Durable Rubber Compound is a blend of solid rubber and additives that offer greater durability on rough and abrasive surfaces. It is heavier than other outsole materials and is used on tennis, walking and basketball shoes. |
| Dri-FIT | Nike's moisture managing material that expels perspiration from the body to the surface of the garment so the moisture can evaporate. |
| Dri-Lex | Carolina's soft nylon lining that removes moisture from the foot and shoe due to the ventilation qualities of the material. |
| DRYZ | A Carolina insole system that absorbs any excess moisture from one's foot converting it into a dry gel within the insole of the shoe. This system ensures that the foot stays dry. |
| Dual-density Polyurethane/Phylon | Nike brand midsoles that offer dual densities for comfort and flexibility. The polyurethane offers a harder sensation for stability while the phylon is softer for comfort and cushioning. |
| Dual-pressure Max Air | The Nike Air Max system that offers a cushioning crash pad that when combined with a medial heel will provide more stability than in the regular Nike Air shoe. |
| Duomax | An Asics shoe that consists of midsole materials that offer dual densities designed to provide comfortable over-pronation control. |
| Duosole | A lightweight Asics outsole which results in more flexibility and traction. |
| Duotruss system | A dual density Asics system that improves arch support and torsional stability. The dual density is soft on the lateral side and firmer on the medial side. |
| Duralon Outsole | The blown, slightly foamed forefoot material of the Nike outsole which allows for a lightweight, cushy feel on expensive running shoes. |
| Durasponge | A comfortable, cushioned rubber outsole made for the Asics brand out of a material highly resistant to abrasions. |
