100m – a 100 meter race, the shortest-length outdoor race
10K – a race of 10 kilometers or 10,000 meters, approximately 6.2 miles
1500m – a middle distance race, 3¾ laps around a 400 meter track
15K – a longer distance race, 15 kilometers, approximately 9.3 miles
2 miles – 3218m; approximately eight laps on a 400 meter track
200m -- a half lap on the 400 meter track
3000m – or 3k, approximately 1.864 miles
40-30-30 – a dieting plan for runners: 40 percent of a day’s calories come from carbohydrates, 30% from protein, and 30% from fats
400m -- the standard lap distance for a track, sometimes referred to as a “quarter,” because it’s roughly equivalent to one-fourth of a mile
5K – 5 kilometers or 5,000 meters, a little more than 3 miles
800m – 2 laps around a 400 meter track, roughly a half mile
8K – nearly 5 miles
