North Star -- a shining and noticeable star which can be used as a navigational aid in the Northern Hemisphere to find the north direction
 
Off-Trail Boots – heavy-duty boots designed for hiking on uneven and unimproved ground
 
Outer Shell Layer – the outside layer of clothing designed to protect from outdoor elements (rain, snow, and wind)

Pounds per Square Inch (PSI) – a measurement of air pressure often used to calculate a fabric’s waterproof capabilities
 
Pronation – an inward rotation of the foot during the gait cycle; while some pronation is natural, “Over Pronation” can lead to a harmful amount of arch strain, exacerbated on rough terrain with a weighty back pack.
