Harbor – A place to drop anchor and secure a ship, often featuring a dock and accompanying facilities
Hard Chine – A sharp-angled intersecting of the bottom and sides of a boat
Hatch – A portal in a ship’s deck -- usually fitted with a waterproof cover -- which passengers enter and exit and cargo can be stored
Head -- A ship’s bathroom facilities, or the upper corner of a ship’s sail. Do not get them confused.
Heading -- The course a ship is traveling in, defined in terms of compass directions
Headway -- A ship’s forward movement. As opposed “Sternway”
Helm -- the device – steering wheel or “Tiller” – which controls the boat’s “Rudder”
Helmsperson -- Believe it or not, the person in charge of operating the “Helm”
Hitch -- a type of knot used to form a loop or noose to attach a line to something else
Hold -- a storage compartment beneath the deck of large craft
Hull -- A boat’s main body structure
