Zone Defense

A zone defense is a defensive scheme in which defenders are responsible for covering certain regions of the court instead of specific players, as opposed to man to man defense. There are various types of zone defenses including a match up zone, box and one, half court trap and more. Playing a match up zone defense is basically a combination of man to man and zone defense in which players end up applying a man to man defense against whichever players enter his or her zone.
