Forwards

The forwards are two of the positions in a traditional 5 position starting lineup. The forwards are often further designated with the titles power forward and small forward. These players are generally smaller than the ôCenterö but larger than the two guards.

Traditionally, the forwards are responsible for the bulk of a teamÆs closer range scoring and rebounding. Modern forwardsÆ roles are changing, with more responsibility for mid range shooting and aggressive defensive responsibilities. The forwards are often among the teamÆs top scorers, and also usually lead in rebound stats, as well.
