Violation -- A “Floor Violation”

Weakside -- The side of the court where the ball isn’t

Zone Defense -- A defensive scheme in which defenders are responsible for covering regions of the court instead of specific players, as opposed to “Man-to-Man” defense. Until a few years ago, this strategy was illegal in the NBA, and though it’s now permitted, it is still fairly uncommon.
