Steel Toe

The steel toe is a type of safety toe work boot and meets and/or exceeds the ASTM standards for compression and impact testing of I-75/C-75. The steel toe is important in the workplace because it protects the foot from sharp or heavy objects that could fall while working. Many companies manufacture shoes worn at construction sites or other factory sites where safety is always a major concern. Many of the safety toe shoes are made with a steel toe. Safety toe shoes come in a variety of styles such as:

  • Mid Height Boots
  • 6-8 inch Boots
  • 9-12 inch Boots

They can also be found in a variety of colors but will feature a slight raise in the toe area to indicate where the steel is located. The steel toe ensures that the foot is less likely to be injured in the workplace if, for example, a nail falls from a platform or a steel bar crashes to the ground. The steel toe will protect the toes from being impaled or crushed. Shoes with a steel toe should be handled carefully as they themselves could cause injury due to their weight.
