Slide

A slide is a backless, open-toed sandal that features a band or strap across the toes for stability. The band across the toes is what enables the shoe to remain on the foot. A slide, like every other shoe style comes in a wide array of designs and colors. The slide can be flat or heeled and depending on the material used to make the shoe, it can be classified as dressy or casual. A slide is a type of sandal, so it is typically worn in the warmer months. The shoe is completely open exposing the foot to air, which would not be pleasant during the winter.

A slide differs from a slip-on in that fact that it is backless and open-toed and features only a few straps across the toes. Slip-ons do not have to be backless and usually cover more of the foot. A slide is great because it is easy to put on and take off and can be bought in many different varieties. Slides can be made of:

  • Straw
  • Woven rope
  • Wood
  • Rubber
  • Leather
  • Canvas
  • Plastic
  • Polyurethane

Slides are great shoes for vacation, daily errands or even dinner in the evening because they are versatile, classy and stylish.
