Perforation

Perforations are the decorative and fucntional pattern of holes punched into the trim of a shoe. Perforations can come in a variety of designs and are found on a variety of men's dressy-styled shoes such as loafers, oxfords and balmorals as well as athletic and casual shoes. Perforations are not meant to stand out exclusively from the shoe, so they are always the same color of the shoe's leather. The perforations can be found on the toe area, the heel and sides of the shoe's upper. In addition to style, perforations also allow for increased breathability, which is very important for odor and bacteria control.
