Oxford

The term oxford is a traditional leather shoe style which features a low heel and is laced or tied over the instep. The overall design of the shoe is typically plain and as a result can be worn by both men and women. The upper of an oxford can feature small decoration or perforations but they are typically very plain. Oxford shoes appeared first in Scotland and Ireland, although today's contemporary styles do not resemble the original design as they can be constructed out of tanned or suede leather or other synthetic materials.
