Lugs

Lugs are the deep rubber treads or grooves found on the underside of the outsole which prevent slipping in off-road conditions. Lugs are found on the sole of a shoe and are usually made of heavy tread natural rubber, which makes the sole highly durable. Lugs can be found on any pair of shoes but are typically found on utility footwear such as work boots.
