Heel seat

The heel seat is the part of the shoe above where the sole and heel are joined together where the heel of the foot rests in the shoe. The heel seat is the portion of the shoe which is made specifically for the placement of the heel. The heel seat typically protrudes a bit from the back of the shoe and is rounded to accommodate the natural shape of an individual's heel. In some shoes, the heel seat could be tighter depending on the style and design of the shoe.
