Gore-Tex

As related to the footwear industry, Gore-Tex is a waterproof membrane that keeps water and wind out while simultaneously letting the foot breathe. The Gore-Tex membrane is typically found inside of a bootie that is located within the shoe itself. The Gore-Tex bootie is not usually removable, if even detectable. Gore-Tex material is important because it protects the foot from wind and water yet is still ventilated to reduce the sweating inside of the shoe.
