Galoshes

Galoshes are oversized rain boots meant to protect the foot and existing footwear during inclement weather. Galoshes are heavy-duty boots made to fit over one's existing shoes, making them the ultimate in inclimate weather protection. Galoshes are made of rubber and are meant to prevent one's footwear from getting wet or muddy. Galoshes clean up easily due to the rubber material, so they are great for trekking through swamps, muddy areas and high grasses.

Naturally, because galoshes are rain boots, they are waterproof and are constructed to keep the foot extra warm and dry. Your foot is already secured inside of a shoe so that when it is placed inside of the galosh, it will be provided with extra protection and security.

Galoshes (or rubbers) come in a variety of colors and even feature colorful designs on the outers. Galoshes are very popular in places where it rains a lot such as Seattle because they are convenient and inexpensive. Galoshes differ from your ordinary rain boots because they fit over your existing shoes, meaning you don't have to take a change of shoes with you everywhere you go. You simply slip on the galoshes over your heels and then shed them once you are safely out of the rain or cold.
