EVA

EVA stands for Ethylene Vinyl Acetate and is an easily moldable synthetic material typically used to construct the midsole of a shoe for cushioning. EVA is typically used as a shock absorber in athletic shoes for activities such as running or tennis. EVA is a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate making it soft, light and flexible. It is the least expensive midsole material and is often used on inexpensive athletic or casual shoes. EVA compresses faster than other midsole materials once the air trapped within the foam is squeezed out.
