d'Orsay

A d'Orsay shoe is a style of women's high heels or pumps in which one or both sides of the shoe are cut out to reveal the sides of the foot. The vamp of the shoe is cut away from the toe box as well as the sides of the shoe, which help to reveal the arch of the foot. A d'Orsay styled shoe is able to stay on the foot due to the enclosure of the toes and heel. The d'Orsay style only refers to the cutout of the vamp of the shoe, so the shoe itself can feature any shape or height of a heel. The d'Orsay shoe is typically a dressy styled shoe although the fabric of the upper will denote its style.
