Cushioned Shoe

Cushioned shoe is the general term used to describe a basic athletic shoe made for people with a neutral stride. The shoe itself will not have any added stability features, making it the perfect choice for a runner or athlete with a neutral gait cycle. A neutral gait cycle means that the person's foot does not roll too far inwards or outwards while in movement. A shoe has to be slightly cushioned if it is used for physical activity in order to absorb the shock of the impact on the foot.

Some shoes offer more cushioning elements than others, but a general cushioned shoe is one with a rubber sole and some type of padding in the insole. The rubber sole itself should be able to give a little under the weight of the foot and the insole should work to absorb shock. A cushioned shoe would probably fall under the category of a gym shoe or sneaker because it is not specifically tailored to the wearer's needs during a particular sport. A cushioned shoe will work to provide comfort and cushion to the entire foot without paying specific attention to any one part of the foot or addressing any problems.
