A crash pad is a removable support pad that when placed on the outer heel of a Nike running shoe will minimize the pressure of initial impact on the foot. The crash pad is meant to absorb most of the shock of impact so that the foot is not negatively affected by the shock. The crash pad allows the foot's landing to be smoother and is meant to provide additional support for those who tend to overpronate.
