Cell

A cell is a hexagonal shaped polyurethane unit made by the Puma brand with varying amounts of CM-EVA or polyurethane foam for support. The PU cells are used because they have a slower rate of compression and breakdown than regular foam. The cells are normally found underneath the metatarsal head to provide a smooth heel transition and an overall comfortable ride. Puma provides two types of cells:

  • IdCell- forefoot cushioning
  • duoCell- found in between the KMS lite midsole to provide additional cushioning for the foot.
