Ballerina Flats
Ballerina flats are shoes with a flat sole whose upper is designed like a real ballerina shoe. The upper of a ballerina flat is usually made of nylon, silk or leather and may have an elastic band that extends across the shoe. Some ballerina flats have ribbons that tie up the ankle to resemble ballet shoes used for Pointe class. Ballerina flats do not have the typical Ballet suede sole because they are for everyday use and are simply modeled after the delicate feminine style of ballet shoes. The soles of ballerina flats are typically made of rubber for traction and durability reasons. Ballerina flats are a style made exclusively for women and can be found in colors such as:
- Light pink
- Tan
- Black
- Dark blue
- Red
- White
Ballerina flats pair well with jeans, skirts, pants and dresses because they add an extra bit of femininity to an otherwise casual outfit. Ballerina shoes are step-in shoes and rarely feature any laces or buckles. They are called ballerina flats because they were made to look like ballerina shoes, which have a very appealing style. Ballerina flats offer no support and should be used for casual activity only.
