Aluminum Toe

The aluminum toe is a trademark of the Carolina footwear company, which manufactures work and safety footwear. The aluminum toe is a type of work boot safety toe and meets and/or exceeds the ASTM standards for compression and impact testing of I-75/C-75. The aluminum toe is important in the workplace because it protects the foot from sharp or heavy objects that might fall in the workplace. The Carolina footwear company manufactures shoes that are used in construction sites or other factory sites where safety is a major concern.

Many safety toe shoes are traditionally made with a steel toe. It is beneficial to use aluminum instead of steel because aluminum is lighter, making it more comfortable to move around in the aluminum toe boot while retaining safety standards.

Safety toe shoes come in a variety of styles such as:

  • Athletic-inspired
  • Oxford
  • Slip on
  • Mid-height boots
  • 6-8 inch boots
  • 9-12 inch boots
  • Work Boots

They can also be found in a variety of colors. Aluminum toe safety shoes have a raise in the toe area where the aluminum reinforces the strength of the shoe. The aluminum toe ensures that the foot is less likely to be hurt in the workplace in the event of sharp or bulky objects coming into forceful contact with the toe area of the boot.  The aluminum toe protects the toe from being impaled or crushed. Shoes with an aluminum toe should be worn responsibly, as they could injure someone due to their hardness, especially if kicked.
