AHAR is Asics's high abrasion resistance rubber used on the outsole of the shoe where heavy contact is anticipated. The AHAR rubber is constructed to be highly resistant to daily wear and tear and also activities in which the shoes undergo heavy contact with the ground. The use of the AHAR rubber on Asics shoes makes them more durable because the shoe is built to withstand heavy contact. Some surfaces such as cement are likely to break down the outsole more quickly than grass due to its rough surface. The AHAR rubber combats surfaces such as cement so that the shoes will last for a longer period of time.
