ArchTec

ArchTec is an open TPU shank device located in the midfoot which encourages Puma brand shoes to rotate to a stable base after the foot's natural movement in the gait cycle. The shank itself provides stability and support for the midfoot during the gait cycle, yet still allows the foot to move with torsional freedom. The ArchTec device, manufactured by Puma, was made to support the foot yet not disable its naturally occurring movement. The ArchTec is not rigid but it still provides stability to the midfoot. If a foot is made to move in a way that is unnatural injury could occur, so the ArchTec stabilizes the foot yet still allows it to move more naturally than other stabilizing shoes.
