Final Leg of 2009 12 Hours of Temecula Race Series Wrapped Up
In typical Southern California style, the third race of the 12 Hours of Temecula race series held on Saturday, November 14th started with a cold morning breeze and many riders lined up in anticipation of the start. This event, which began with less than 100 riders at its inception has grown to this last race, where there were nearly 650 riders. 130 of them rode out as solo riders, like Team SHOEBACCA captain, Dee Folse.
"Team SHOEBACCA showed up and rode hard. We haven't had any rain in some time, so the course was hard and fast, but it was a super fun ride," said Folse. "This time it was chilly enough with a starting temperature of 40 degrees that I rode with arm warmers and a vest. Our SHOEBACCA gear keeps us motivated and riding strong!"
The same gear that our Team SHOEBACCA riders are wearing on the trail is available at SHOEBACCA.com to give you eye-catching style while you conquer your own races. From jackets to socks, you can sport the same gear that is winning races and looking sharp for Team SHOEBACCA! Click HERE to see it.
"There are times in these endurance races where you will find yourself alone on the trail, unable to see another rider in front or behind you. You feel like you are alone in the middle of nowhere. For this event, there were so many riders that you never had that feeling. There were always pockets of people, which is a great motivator and makes the ride go that much faster," said Folse.
Jason Ranoa, who runs the SoCal Endurance 12 hour race series, has been a good promoter of the Team SHOEBACCA mentality of teamwork and perseverance. Every event is like a family reunion for Ranoa, with his family taking the volunteer spots as part of the crew making these events a success. Team SHOEBACCA captain Dee Folse hopes to see the events continue to grow every race, as they have done. "Jason is such a great guy, and too see what began so small grow to include 650 riders... Well, it's pretty amazing. We just want to give Jason and his wife Heather a shout out for putting on such a great event."
Folse and the rest of Team SHOEBACCA look forward to January, when the 2010 series of races will kick off at Vail Lake Resort in Temecula, CA. More information on the SoCal Endurance race series is available online at the 12 Hours of Temecula website.
