Brand Information
Osiris Shoes was founded in 1996 by Tony Chen, Tony Magnusson, Brian Reid, Doug Weston and Laura Kim. They created the company when they saw a void in the skateboard industry for pro designed and endorsed footwear.
They are best known for their innovations in technical footwear, more commonly the D3. Osiris contacted pro-skater Dave Mayhew to design his own skate shoe. The end result, The D3, started as a slow seller, but when Osiris began liquidating their surplus, the D3's popularity increased. The second version of the shoe, Osiris D3 2001, proved to be very popular. Osiris then released a smaller, lighter, less bulky version called the D3 NTX. This was followed by D3 4.0 and later a D3 Snowboarding boot, based on the design of the D3 2001 model.
Other notable moments are the creation of the first ever Mobil Audio unit-- the "G-BAG." "The Storm" was chosen as the 1999 Transworld readers poll's best video, which included the best skaters of the era. Their original and very popular designs, The Bronx and South Bronx brought about the rebirth of High tops and the Chino, and the start of the new Vulcanized craze. Osiris continues to sponsor pro extreme sports athletes, and expands their lines with awesome new styles and colorways.
