You wouldn't turn the Mona Lisa into a 3-D hologram or update the works of Shakespeare with emoticons and textspeak would you? Of course not. You leave the classics alone, which is why Fila has the good sense not to futz around with the Fila Classic men's tennis shoes. Sure, Fila could "upgrade" the Classic tennis with some sort of lab-created microscopic cushioning bio technology, but why bother when the removable comfy insole padding will keep your feet plenty comfortable off the court? They could redesign the Fila Classic's timeless look according to the whims of the latest 14-year-old superstar, but how could they possibly improve on the always fashionable function over form low-profile beauty of the original Classic?

Sometimes things are so perfectly made the first time that they should just be appreciated for what they are, not continually fiddled with. Would anyone honestly prefer "2B or not 2B, that's the ????, yo ;-D?" If so, don't let that person anywhere near your Fila Classic tennis shoes.
