Brand Information
Ecko Unltd was founded in 1993 by Marc Ecko, Seth Gerszberg, and Marci Tapper. Evolving from just six t-shirts and a can of spray paint, Marc Ecko Enterprises has become a full-scale global fashion and lifestyle company that reported international retail sales of approximately $1 billion in 2004. Fashion pioneer Marc Ecko, a former graffiti artist with deep ties to the urban community, has led Ecko Unltd into a leader of fashion, with expansions to include Ecko Unltd men's and Ecko Red women's apparel, Marc Ecko Formalwear, Ecko Unltd and Ecko Red Kids, outerwear, footwear, watches, eyewear, underwear, belts, bags, hats, small leather goods, formalwear and more.
The Ecko line has also reached out to the artists and icons that inspired its style, creating unique lines like the G-Unit Clothing Company. G-Unit is an independent venture operated by Ecko Unltd and multi-platinum selling artist 50 Cent. The G-Unit line is comprised of denim, tees, fleece, outerwear, hats, shoes and athletic-inspired sportswear, that includes men's, women's, boys', and girls' clothing. In addition to tapping the urban market, in 1993 they reached out to the growing skateboard-style market with Zoo York. Part of MEE since 2001, Zoo York is the East Coast's largest action sports company, featuring skateboards and skater-influenced clothing and accessories. In September 2004, Marc Ecko Enterprises signed an exclusive US and Canadian licensing agreement with Avirex Ltd. to introduce a new Avirex-branded sportswear collection.
In addition to an ever-growing array of clothing and footwear, Marc Ecko publishes Complex Magazine, a bi-monthly urban lifestyle publication with a circulation of 325,000. He's tapped the video game market with "Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure," an homage to graffiti's rich culture. Told through an alternate reality in a futuristic universe, the game represents the culmination of seven years of story and character development by Ecko.
Constantly innovating and breaking stereotypes with fresh gear for the world, Ecko Unltd continues to wow the world with the latest styles and top-quality merchandise.
