Pony Uptown

Wrapped with my new Pony's!

By Pony Lover - Sydney, Australia on Feb 27th, 2010

These are a great shoe but then you expect that when you buy Pony! They remind me of my very first pair of Pony's I bought in 1984 that I thrashed on the court and off as well and have not been able to find another brand of shoe as good since. They lasted me years as well. The synthetic vinyl things just don't take the punishment like the leather does! Although I'm to old to pound the court these days, I'll be wearing these Pony's with pride to watch my sons play their sports and remember the good old days of my very first pair of Pony's. Is that what they mean when they say Retro Style?

Pony History

An icon in the sports world, Pony and its chevron logo has been named one of the 50 most recognized brands in the world. Founded in 1972, Pony has seen it's high quality and sharply styled athletic shoes and apparel on such hall of fame players, coaches and teams as Red Auerbach, Tracy Austin, Willis Reed, Reggie Jackson, Hank Aaron, Lawrence Taylor, Earl Campbell, Dan Marino, Franco Harris, Mary Lou Retton, Earl "The Pearl" Monroe, Darryl Dawkins, David "Sky Walker" Thompson, George Foreman, Notre Dame and the Super Bowl Champion Oakland Raiders. Historically, Pony can proudly boast that they are the only company in the world to ever have two of the sports world's greatest legends, Muhammed Ali and Pele under contract at the same time.

Pony's history with sports is still being written. In 2007, Pony signed an agreement with the ABA (American Basketball Association) to be the official footwear provider, gearing the players up in their quality basketball shoes for the season. Pony's outstanding line of athletic shoes and apparel continue to grow, and 2008 will see many new products. Rave reviews are already hitting the internet and press regarding the new sneaker line, and continuing new sponsorships and partnerships with icons like rapper/producer Snoop Dogg, snowboarder and headwear king Sean Neff and '76ers legend Darryl Dawkins show Pony's drive to compete in today's footwear market. Pony is truly "All-time!"
